The winners of the photography contest from this year’s Isle of Man Flower Festival have been chosen.
Entrants were asked to submit photographs of displays from the festival in July to illustrate this year’s theme, of Our Community.
The judges were so impressed with the standard of entries that they have awarded three top prizes equally.
The top three, in no specific order, were Ruth Black’s photograph of the RNLI display at St Matthew’s Church in Douglas, Alexandra Day’s close-up of a rural display in St Patrick’s Church, Jurby, and Peter Tucker’s picture of the Young Farmers’ display in St Mary de Ballaugh.
Flower Festival committee chairman Judy Matthews said: ‘It was an incredibly difficult task for the judges to pick our favourite three pictures.
‘Some entries in particular were of a high technical quality, but we also wanted to consider photographs which epitomised the theme of Our Community.
‘I’d like to thank everyone for taking part. It really was a pleasure to look through all the wonderful pictures.’
Each winner in the competition, sponsored by Friends Provident International Limited and Greeba Plant Centre, will receive a £50 voucher for Greeba Plant Centre.
The winners have all been notified and will be presented with their prizes next month.
