Press Release: Alice centre stage at Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in the library

The Family Library staged a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party as part of its series of events to mark the Summer Reading Scheme, which this year has a Wonderland Theme.

Alice, also known as assistant librarian Verity Charlesworth, is pictured with twins Charlie and Samuel Staley, along with sister Daisy.

Even if you missed the deadline to register for the reading scheme, you can still take part in the many events being staged at the library.

This week sees drop in craft and Wonderland activities from Tuesday to Saturday.

Tuesday, August 11, also has a free recycled paper animal craft workshop, from 4pm-4.45pm, for children aged five and over.

On Wednesday, August 12, there is Funny Faces from 10.30am-4pm, which is £1 to take part.

Thursday, August 13, sees The Queen of Hearts Baked Some Tarts biscuit decorating from 2pm-4pm, £2 to take part.

Friday, August 14, has Storybox from 10.30am to 11am. From 2pm-4pm, there is Tweedlecraft, which is £2 to take part.

Saturday, August 15, sees Stickyfingers from 10.30am to midday, £2.
